Translating in Korea a Decade past the second Millennium, means much is related to the i.T.industry, as it is a power-house to some of the most popular products either Made-in-Korea or branded-from, but also more products are being imported than ever, for more discrete local consumers .
having worked for electronics companies such as exporting car stereos to the States and promoting set-up boxes at Las Vegas fairs, I also write for the most popular Tech BLog dealing with electronics around the Korean Peninsula .
and although tweaking yourself on how mechanics works on a new machine, is quite fun, much can go wrong if dealt erroneously, especially on smaller portable devices . automation (translation) is great for saving time on repetitive tasks, as much of out-bound export and in-bound import manuals are done by immediate On-Line translation or dedicated software – all of which are amazing but far from perfect yet – as human comprehension differs among culture and situation .
Thus my take on translating manuals are NOT straight-forward, but instead understanding first how the machine works and may even advise on concurrent changes, to devise instruction sheets that the end consumer or employee may fully understand, for the betterment of the product and the manufacturer also – eventually a tight belt of acknowledgement on the brand itself .
